PRESIDENT'S LETTER

cassandra Archer
NOMAct President
2025 - Present
Dear NOMAct Community,
As I reflect on our journey through the first quarter of this year, one truth has become abundantly clear: the campaign we’ve set forth is not just a plan—it’s a catalyst for transformation. The theme for 2025-2026, Together We Thrive, speaks to something far greater than a simple phrase. It’s a rallying cry, a commitment to harnessing the collective power we, as architects, educators, and allied professionals, already possess to spark meaningful change. With intention, urgency, and purpose, we are transforming our vision into reality.
I am deeply inspired by the unwavering dedication of our volunteer committees, supporters, and allies. It’s through your work that we not only achieve our goals but continue to evolve, grow, and thrive in a world that is constantly shifting. You’ve been instrumental in providing both the resources and the unwavering passion needed to propel our organization forward.
Our path is guided by three core pillars—Unifying Voices, Empowering Engagement, and Building Bold Communities. Together, we are creating opportunities where new leaders are nurtured, equipped, and empowered to succeed. Through programs like our Axe Throwing Event, the upcoming Spring Hike, and scholarships such as the UHart Summer Institute and the ARE Scholarship (which has already garnered 10 applications this year!), we are offering spaces where young professionals can flourish. This is our moment to ignite change, challenge the status quo, and design a future where equity is not just a consideration, but the very foundation of all we do.
A special thanks to our allies—like our Q1 Meet and Greet guest speaker, Jim Cecil, and our event sponsor, A.P. Construction. Through your support, we’re creating spaces that foster vulnerability, connection, and the sharing of stories—each one a source of inspiration. Jim’s journey of overcoming adversity and turning challenges into strengths is a powerful reminder of our collective ability to rise above and thrive together, especially in times of uncertainty.

As we move into Q2, I encourage you to stay connected, stay engaged, and stay involved. There are so many ways to contribute: join NOMAct, explore our new website, sign up for committees through the co-chairs listed below, and help increase sponsorship to support our vital initiatives.
With so much ahead, I am excited for the opportunities and experiences the coming months will bring. Thank you once again for your continued dedication and support. It is an honor to lead such a brilliant, creative, and talented community of architects.
Let’s thrive together,
Cassandra Archer, AIA, NOMA
